One of the fastest and easiest ways of lighting your BBQ is with the Chimney starter, if you don’t own one, we suggest getting one pronto. This is the no fuss way of lighting your BBQ and you’ll thank us later. However, if you need solutions immediately, arrange your charcoals in a stack, placing your natural firelighter/s in between the charcoal and Light. Them. Up.
To use your chimney starter:
- At least half fill the chimney starter with British lump wood charcoal.
- Then lay one or two wool firelighters on to the charcoal grate.
- Light the them up with a blowtorch or a lighter.
- Place the chimney starter on top of the lit starters.
- Leave the chimney starter to light and take flame.
- The airflow from in the chimney starter will draw upwards and really drive the charcoal to take very quickly.
- When the charcoal is glowing near the top, pop on a pair of heat proof protective gloves and with the handle, tip the charcoal where you want it on the charcoal grill. Voila.
