Caradoc Charcoal
Caradoc Charcoal has recently changed hands, moved to Scotland and is now run by the passionate forester and superb charcoal maker Simon Scott. It remains an independent family business in the heart of the rolling Scottish countryside, 20 miles from Glasgow.
Simon will continue the excellence delivered by the Caradoc brand, producing outstanding mixed species charcoal from Scottish hardwood trees (mainly Ash and Sycamore with a little Oak). there will also be small drops of single species charcoal which will be truly special, so look out for those!
The clincher for us, notwithstanding flying through the rigour of the House of Charcoal testing, was using Caradoc at the first Meatopia in Glasgow where chefs loved the charcoal for its mixed sized chunks, ease of lighting, long slow burn and no hissing and popping. Truly outstanding charcoal.
