Caradoc Charcoal

We are delighted to bring back Caradoc Charcoal, a long established British Charcoal Brand, under new ownership. Alistair and Ruth, the new Caradoc owners, are based in West Sussex and works with trees coppiced from local woodlands to make superb charcoal. The team at the new Caradoc have a long history of making exceptional charcoal and it is incredibly satisfying that they chose to keep the brand alive and invest heavily in further growing our punchy British charcoal industry.  Welcome back Caradoc - it’s great to have you back and cooking so good!

    This superb mixed species, hardwood charcoal just gets on with the job with no fuss or fanfare. A proper workhorse charcoal that is hand made and hand sorted so only the medium and larger chunks make it into the bag - expect a wide mixture of sizes which allow air to flow freely through which is ideal for all types of cooks.. Lights easily (barely needs a starter), spreads beautifully, loves to get hot but equally brilliant with all types of barbecue from open beds to a Kamado for low and slow. Lasts an age with very little ash residue - could there be a better mixed species charcoal?
