Caradoc Charcoal has recently changed hands, moved to Scotland and is now run by the passionate forester and superb charcoal maker Simon Scott.  It remains an independent family business in the heart of the rolling Scottish countryside, 20 miles from Glasgow.

Simon will continue the excellence delivered by the Caradoc brand, producing outstanding single and mixed species charcoal from Scottish hardwood trees.

Generally seeded into the forest by birds eating the fruit and dropping the stones, Wild Cherry will appear dotted around a woodland rather than in large stands. To gather enough to make single species batches requires our foresters to select and keep them for us from several compartments. For this reason, we won’t have it often, but it really is a treat, so grab a bag while you can! This is a fairly dense charcoal and has a rich, darker flavour. Perfect for venison and game.

When we talk about charcoal as an ingredient - this is the best! Super subtle sweet smoked flavours come through the burn - amazing with duck and game - outrageous with venison. Truly special.

Express delivery is next business day for all orders placed before 2:00pm, Monday - Friday. Any orders placed on Friday after 2:00pm will be sent out for delivery the following working day.

Saturday delivery is the next available Saturday from when the order is placed up to 2.00 p.m. on a Friday.

Express and Saturday delivery orders are shipped via DHL. You will receive your tracking number via your given email with an estimated delivery window, followed by a confirmed delivery window. You can track your order at any time using DHL’s track and trace or download the DHL app on your device to manage your delivery.

Unfortunately, we cannot send express delivery to Northern Ireland, Jersey, the Hebrides, Orkney, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Felixstowe, Aberdeen, Northern Highlands, Republic of Ireland, Argyll, Glasgow, Dundee, Guernsey, Shetland Islands, Isle of Scilly and Cornwall. However, it’s worth the wait.
