  • 1 x 4KG Whittle and Flame Ash Charcoal

Whittle and Flame. Ash, a staple of virtually every British woodland. This most useful of trees loses nothing of its versatility once made into charcoal. Easy to light, quick to respond to changes in airflow. It copes well with a hot grill, or low and slow setups. Distilled in our unique process, the light sweet smoky flavour, comes through in buckets.

Yorkshire.  An exclusive from god’s own county and our founders beloved Yorkshire, this medium density mixed hardwood charcoal delivers consistent, strong heat with a long burn. Great for all occasions and low and slows cooks, imparting mild flavours to your food.

Birchwood.  This lovely, pure charcoal from Birchwood is made with passion in the Herefordshire countryside.  It is made up of wood that is felled from a coppicing programme in beautiful and fertile forests a mile away from the production yard.   The mixed hardwood charcoal delivers consistent, strong heat with a fast and hot burn but is equally impressive delivering low and slow.

Stag.  The timber for this charcoal has been sourced from local woodlands in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Essex and Cambridgeshire.  Stag Charcoal produce large lump Ash charcoal which almost completely fills a 6kg paper sack. Ash charcoal has a very controllable burn. Mild smoke notes that adds flavour is ideal for fish, chicken or delicate flavours.

The flamers are made from natural wood wool with natural, renewable, untreated wood shavings. They have multi purpose use to start fires in wood burners, barbecues, stoves, campfires, pizza ovens and firepits. Say farewell to fumbling with newspapers or chemical filled petrol starters (yuck). Simply add ONE flamer in the centre beneath your charcoal and light!
